Manchester United are to follow up their signing of Joshua Zirkzee with a deal for French centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille. The transfer fee is as yet undisclosed, but is believed to be in the region of £35 million and the 18-year-old will sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford.
The move will go some way to replacing Raphael Varane, who departed Man Utd during the summer after his contract expired. For many, Yoro is a defender in the mould of Varane and is one of France's best young prospects.
Yoro made his debut for Lille in 2022 and has since gone on to appear 46 times for the club, scoring two goals in Ligue 1. In addition to that, the Saint-Maurice born youngster has appeared for France's youth team at every level, most recently appearing for the under-21 side.
United will move swiftly to complete a transfer as it is understood that several European sides are looking to hijack a deal, including Bundesliga duo Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Yoro has flown on private jet to Manchester this morning with his mother, and will undergo a medical before signing a deal tomorrow.
