Marseille have wrapped up the signing of Mason Greenwood after the Englishman completed his medical this morning. The player has been sold by Manchester United after a high profile incident in the United Kingdom and the Old Trafford outfit have opted to cash in on the England international, receiving a fee of around £27 million.
Greenwood had a highly successful spell in La Liga last year, scoring 8 goals in 33 league games, and numerous teams around the continent had shown an interest in signing the attacker this summer.
However, it is Marseille who have sealed the deal, despite a small number of protests by the club's fans.
Greenwood played 83 games in the Premier League for United, scoring 22 goals, and the 22-year-old forward will sign a new long-term contract at the Ligue 1 side that will likely keep him with his club until 2027.
Marseille are understood to have beaten German club Werder Bremen and Italian outfit Genoa to the player's signature, and it is understood that Greenwood has an eventual goal to return to the Premier League to rebuild his career.
