Valencia eye Zapater And Garcia

22 May 2008 - 05:34

Spanish La Liga side Valencia are said to be interested in signing the Real Zaragoza duo Alberto Zapater and Sergio García this summer after Zaragoza got relegated to the Segunda Division in Spain.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • Zaragoza went down to the Spanish second division on the last day of the just concluded Spanish season and have to sell a number of their major players to balance their books.

The likes of Pablo Aimar, Diego Milito, Ricardo Oliviera, Roberto Fabian Ayala, Sergio Garcia and Alberto Zapater are all anticipated to be offloading to inject some vital cash to the club.

Valencia themselves need to sort out their finances and shall have to sell a few of their best players too. Yet Los Che are looking forward to some decent players on the cheap and that is where Zaragoza creep into the equation.

Sergio Garcia has been called up to the Spanish national squad for the Euro 2008 finals. He is one of the most consistent midfielders in Spain and can play as a back-up striker too.

Zapater on the other hand is one of the best young defensive midfielders in Spain and is a graduate of the youth academy of Real Zaragoza.
