Edmilson joins Villarreal

Brazilian defender Edmilson, who has appeared over 40 times for his national team, has decided to join Villarreal from Barcelona. Several Premiership sides were interested in the player.

"Brazilian central midfielder Edmilson has pledged his future for the next two seasons with Villarreal," read a brief club statement.



Edmilson has signed an enormous £30,000 a week deal with the club.



Villarreal have been busy adding to their squad this season as they pursue La Liga glory next year after an impressive second placed finish.
