Giovani-Malouda swap still on

24 May 2008 - 13:16

According to Diario Sport, the prospect of FC Barcelona bartering their 18-year old Mexican wizkid Giovani Dos Santos for Chelsea's left sided midfielder Florent Malouda is still very much on.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Diario Sport speculates that Barcelona are in desperate need of a left sided player to shore up the defence on that particular angle and also chisel the attacking edge on the left.

This is why it speculates that Barca would like to engage Chelsea in a player-swap deal and import Malouda to the Camp Nou and let Giovani move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Malouda was signed by Chelsea from French giants Olympique Lyonnais and he hasn't been too impressive in his first season in the Premiership. Giovani, on the other hand, is not at all happy with the lack of playing time he has received at Camp Nou in his first season in La Liga.

Which, according to Diario Sport, neatly opens up the window of opportunity for a sawp deal involving the Mexican and the French international.
