CSKA Moscow are chasing Brazilian striker Afonso Alves. The Russian club are prepared to pay the £12m asking price Heerenveen have slapped on the Copa America winning squad member.
Alves had been linked with Middlesbrough during the summer, but Boro opted to sign Mido instead. However, it has been revealed that CSKA wish to Alves to their Brazilian contingent and will double the player's wages.
Afonso Alves is famous for scoring 34 goals in 31 games last season for Heerenveen.
