Villarreal have decided that they will be calling up Martin Caceres next season to the full squad after a successful season on loan at Recreativo. The player had attracted the interests of Barcelona.
The Uruguayan will be playing for Villarreal from next season as it appears the Yellow Submarines have turned their attentions away from Sol Campbell onto Caceres.
"If there is one thing that is not clear in our policy for next season, it is that we will be signing no more defenders," Villarreal's general manager, José Manuel Llaneza said.
"With [Cáceres'] arrival the defence is strong and we do not feel that it is necessary to make any more reinforcements."
