27 April 2025 - 21:35

Manchester United have made contact to sign Lille striker Jonathan David on a free transfer this summer, according to TBR Football.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Red Devils are aiming to bolster their strikeforce for next season and they have been linked with multiple strikers over the past month.

It is now claimed that United are in contention to land David whose contract with Lille concludes on June 30. He has no plans to renew.

The Canadian star has been in sensational form this campaign and he has bagged 25 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions.

His form has caught the eye of several European clubs. United have made contact with his agents and they could persuade him to join.

David has his sights on playing European football next term and it could be a key requirement for him to join the Mancunian giants.

Ruben Amorim's side are out of contention for Europe via the league, but they could do so by winning the Europa League crown.

In that way, the Red Devils will qualify directly for the league phase of the 2025/26 Champions League campaign.
