Chelsea are keen on landing French striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt before the Club World Cup, according to The Independent.
The Blues are planning to make multiple additions to the squad this summer. A marquee striker is one of the top priorities for the west London giants.
The club are already in talks to land Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, but they are eyeing a better solution to compete with the England youth star.
The hierarchy have intensified their pursuit of Ekitike, having monitored his progress closely over the past 12 months through their scouting system.
Ekitike signed for Eintracht from PSG after an initial loan deal. He has registered 22 goals and 12 assists from 48 appearances this campaign.
Aside from his goal contributions, the 22-year-old has also impressed with his pace and dribbling on the counter-attack for the Bundesliga outfit.
Eintracht have set an asking price of around £84 million, but the Blues remain optimistic of lowering the overall package for a transfer.
