Chelsea have agreed personal terms over a seven-year contract with Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, according to Bild.
The west London giants were keen on signing the England youth international before the Club World Cup, but could not seal an agreement.
They made three bids for the highly-rated winger. Their latest offer of €55 million was knocked back by the German heavyweights.
The Blues are likely to come up with a renewed offer in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the club already have a full agreement on personal terms with the player. He has verbally finalised a seven-year contract.
Gittens will reportedly double his wages with a move to Stamford Bridge. Dortmund want at least €65 million to sanction his transfer.
Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on the situation. If Chelsea fail to meet those demands, they could attempt to hijack the deal.
Bayern recently suffered a huge setback with Nico Williams' decision to join Barcelona. The Blaugrana are negotiating a fee with Athletic.
