Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Lyon for the transfer of Malick Fofana, who is also on Chelsea's radar.
The Belgian is one of the best young wingers in Ligue 1, and he is expected to leave Lyon during the ongoing transfer window.
The Blues made initial contact for the player last month, but Forest are the only club who have made a serious move for him.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Forest have agreed on payment terms with Lyon, but they have yet to receive the green light from Fofana.
The 20-year-old has his sights on playing Champions League football next season and he is prepared to wait for lucrative offers.
Chelsea remain keen on landing the highly-rated attack and it remains to be seen whether they match Forest's proposal on the table.
The Blues have already bolstered their wide attacking department with the signings of Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro over the past week.
