Arsenal have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, according to French outlet L'Equipe.
The Gunners are keen on bolstering their attack with multiple options and they are determined to sign a versatile winger.Â
Real Madrid's Rodrygo remains the top target for the London heavyweights, but they are keeping tabs on alternative options.
Akliouche, 23, has now emerged as a possible target for the Gunners and it is reported that they could battle Spurs for his services this summer.
The Frenchman scored seven goals and provided 12 assists for Monaco last campaign. Four of those goal contributions were in Ligue 1.
The attacker also caught the eye with his dribbling skills and distribution.Â
Despite his good traits, Arsenal could be reluctant to sign him, given Monaco are reluctant to accept less than €70 million for a sale.
Akliouche largely prefers to operate from the right wing or right-sided number 10 role. Arsenal's main need is on the left flank.
The Gunners need an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Rodrygo would be a perfect acquisition for the club.
