Chelsea are exploring a shock move for Arsenal wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri, according to Sport Mediaset.
The Blues were keen on signing Nwaneri in the past and they have revived their pursuit amid his ongoing contract stand-off.
Nwaneri's current deal with the Gunners expires in June next year, and he has yet to be convinced to sign a contract extension.
If there is no resolution in the coming weeks, the door could open for the Gunners to sell rather than lose him on a free next year.
The Blues are keeping a close eye. They could propose to sign Nwaneri if the Gunners are unable to convince him to prolong his stay.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have already agreed terms with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, and they are expected to make a formal bid soon.
Any deal for Nwaneri won't be related. Chelsea plan to make a separate move for the Gunners graduate later on in the transfer window.
