West Ham are to sign Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor this summer, as the 6 foot 5 shotstopper has reportedly flown to East London to undergo talks with the Hammers. Victor, 29-years-old, had moved to current club Botafogo in 2024, but previously had spent most of his early career at Santos, before having a few loan spells including one at Spanish side Valladolid.
John Victor’s standout attribute is his exceptional shot‑stopping ability, reflected in a save percentage around 79–82 percent in the 2024 Brazilian league and Libertadores, and earning him places in the Brazilian Série A Team of the Year, Copa Libertadores Team of the Tournament, and South American Team of the Year.
Despite suffering a muscle injury early in his Botafogo tenure, he recovered to play consistently, showcasing reliable command of his area, impressive reflexes, and composure under pressure.
West Ham are to beat Manchester United to the signature of the Brazilian, and are expected to pay around £9 million for the player.
