Manchester United have made an opening bid worth €85m to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer, according to BILD.
The Red Devils are determined to bolster their striking department this summer and they have identified Sesko as the primary target this month.
Newcastle United recently made an offer worth €90m for the marksman, and United have responded to it with a €85m proposal for his services.
United believe the package represents a fair value for the Slovenian, and it remains to be seen whether Leipzig will consider the offer made.
Newcastle have obviously made the better offer on the table, and we won't be surprised if Leipzig ask United to come up with a renewed proposal.
Sesko is reportedly open to joining either club this summer and does not have a preference. The Magpies have a slight edge over United.
The club have qualified for next season's Champions League which is obviously a big incentive to persuade any emerging striker.
