Leicester City and West Ham have come to an agreement on a £19 million transfer for goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, and the shot stopper will be announced as the Irons' new number 1 shortly, taking over Alphonse Areola's starting position between the sticks. A late bid for John Victor fell through, clearing the way for the Hammers to sign Hermansen.
Hermansen struggled last season at Leicester City, who were ultimately relegated, but the keeper did make some impressive shot stopping statistics, persuading West Ham to table an offer. The former Brondby goalkeeper arrived in England in 2023 and joined Leicester City and is widely regarded as one of the best young keepers from Scandinavia at this time. Currently playing for Denmark's under-21 side, a move to West Ham will likely elevate him into the running for the full national side.
West Ham were the sole team in the race to sign Hermansen and the club will be delighted to finally get a transfer over the line, giving the keeper enough time to settle in at the East London outfit.
