Bayern Munich are now interested in signing Chelsea target Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, according to journalist Kieran Gill.
The Netherlands international has been tipped to leave Leipzig this summer. The Blues have been in constant contact with the Bundesliga outfit, and have been unable to lower the €70 million asking price.
Amidst this, Bayern have joined the race for the Dutchman, but it is claimed that Simons is eager to sign for the Blues. He is prepared to wait for the London giants despite Bayern's interest in landing him.
Simons has already agreed on personal terms with the west London giants, and the onus is now on them to find an agreement with Leipzig.
Leipzig have been firm on their price tag for the attacker, and the Blues may have to pay closer to the valuation to persuade them into a deal.
The German giants are in a strong financial position after the €85m sale of Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United earlier this month.
