Bournemouth have beaten West Ham and Nottingham Forest to the signing of winger Ben Doak from Liverpool, as the highly rated younger opts to join Andoni Iraola's flourishing project. Doak will sign a five-year contract with the Cherries, and the transfer package will be worth around £25 million.
Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, scoring 3 goals in 24 games on the Riverside, and returned to Anfield with hope that he would be able to feature in Arne Slot's squad for the defence of the Premier League title. However, Liverpool have instead opted to cash in and the right winger will now move to the Cherries.
This is a major coup for Bournemouth, as both Nottingham Forest and West Ham had been locked in discussions with Liverpool to push through a transfer deal. In fact, the Hammers had agreed a fee but Doak insisted on a move to Bournemouth instead
Bournemouth sold Dango Ouattara last week to Brentford for £42.5 million and a chunk of those funds have been used to acquire youngster Doak.
