Wolves have wrapped up a deal for Cameroon international Jackson Tchatchoua, with a deal being agreed with Verona for around £11 million. Tchatchoua is one of the fastest players in the world, and last season in Serie A he clocked the quickest time for all players in the Italian top flight.
The player is comfortable playing as either a full-back or wing-back, and gives the club options following the departure of Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Tchatchoua is primarily a right wing-back but equally adept as a full-back, offering essential versatility for Wolves’ system. His standout quality is elite pace - last season he clocked a top speed of 36.3 km/h, making him the fastest player in Serie A.
The 23-year-old, born in Belgium and formerly of Charleroi, spent two seasons impressing in Serie A, first on loan and then permanently with Verona.
Wolves signed him to inject dynamism and defensive recognition into their engine room, especially after losing Semedo to Fenerbahce. Manager Vitor Pereira values players capable of contributing both in defense and attack, with Tchatchoua's pace and flexibility fitting that mold perfectly.
