Progress has been made last night in talks between Chelsea and Manchester United for the transfer of Argentinian forward Alejandro Garnacho. Garnacho has informed close friends that he will be joining the Blues, and it is understood that Chelsea have had a £55 million bid accepted for the 21-year-old United player.
Garnacho had fallen out with Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim at the end of last season, and the Portuguese manager has informed the youngster that he is free to leave for a new challenge. Chelsea have been long-term admirers of the versatile forward, and last night appeared to finally have had a breakthrough in their pursuit.
For a fee of £50 million plus £5 million in add-ons, Chelsea will be signing an experienced winger that has already played 93 Premier League games and scored 16 goals. Garnacho arrived at Old Trafford in 2022 and went on to become one of the club's most important players under Erik Ten Hag, but his time at United has been mixed since Ruben Amorim took charge.
A deal is likely to be announced before the end of the week.
