French international defender Axel Disasi is wanted by Premier League rivals Bournemouth, as the Cherries appear to be ready to pay around £25 million to sign the 27-year-old former Monaco player. It is understood that Disasi is free to depart Stamford Bridge, and has been informed that he will likely not get regular first-team football with the Blues this season.
Numerous teams have been linked with Disasi, but it is Bournemouth who are now in pole position to secure the defender's signature after having their most recent bid accepted yesterday evening.
Disasi spent some time on loan at Aston Villa last year, but the Birmingham outfit opted against a transfer deal and Disasi returned to Chelsea. Having played 37 Premier League games over two years for Chelsea, Enzo Maresca has decided Disasi can leave.
It is understood that Chelsea will take a loss on Disasi, but the player will receive a longer term contract at Bournemouth and will receive a pay increase.
Bournemouth had a busy summer of defensive departures, with Milos Kerkez, Zabarnyi and Dean Huijsen all leaving for new challenges.
