Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho - who has been informed that he has no future at Old Trafford - has moved a step closer to a departure after Besiktas reportedly agreed a loan fee with Sancho's club last night and Dortmund continue to negotiate a fee with United to re-sign the England international. Sancho spent last season at Chelsea but the Blues opted not to bring the player in on a permanent basis.
Sancho fell out with former United manager Erik Ten Hag and had been told by the club's hierarchy that he is free to leave Manchester, but so far nobody has been able to match the player's reported £170,000-per-week salary.
Therefore, in agreeing a loan deal for nearly half of that weekly arrangement is a coup for Besiktas, who will reportedly pay £7.5 million for Sancho's services for a season.
Dortmund know what kind of player they would potentially be signing and have gone straight to discussions with regard to a permanent deal. The Bundesliga outfit have a limited budget to play with, and want to sign Sancho for around 26 million euros, a fee that United would lose money on so would be unlikely to accept.
