Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer could be sidelined for multiple games due to his nagging groin problem, according to BBC Sport.
The England international has endured an injury-plagued campaign with the Blues. He was substituted early during the 2-1 league defeat at Manchester United.
The Blues decided to rest Palmer until the international break, but reports now claim that he will be sidelined for at least four games when the Blues return to action.
Palmer won't feature against Nottingham Forest, Ajax, Sunderland or Wolverhampton Wanderers. He will be reassessed by the medical staff after that period.
Chelsea don't want their prized asset to pick up a serious injury and are handling him with extra caution. Hopefully, he will make a smooth recovery.
The Blues registered a statement win over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge last weekend. They will return to Premier League action versus Nottingham Forest on the road.
Chelsea have a minimum target of qualifying for the Champions League this campaign. A trophy on top of this would be a massive bonus.
