Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has hinted that defender Noussair Mazraoui could be sidelined for the Premier League clash against Liverpool on the road on Sunday.
The Moroccan has had an injury-plagued campaign and he picked up a fresh concern before the October international break. He was anticipated to return in time for the derby, but that may not happen.
Speaking in today's press conference, Amorim said that he does not know whether the versatile defender will be fit to face the Reds this weekend.
He told reporters: "Mazraoui, I don’t know. The rest of the guys, the national team [players], they are ready."
Mazraoui has been a brilliant signing for the Red Devils. He has operated in both wing-back positions as well as on the right side of the back three.
His absence should be a blow for the club. Without him, Amad Diallo will have to step up at right wing-back, given his weakness in contesting duels.
