Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has reacted to Jorrel Hato's performance following the club's 2-2 draw against Qarabag in the Champions League.
The Dutchman started in the heart of the defence for the Blues last night. He had a forgettable showing and was responsible for both goals conceded.
Hato could not cope with the pace of Camilo Duran in the lead-up to the opening goal for Qarabag. He also conceded a reckless penalty for the second.
Speaking after the 2-2 draw, Maresca did not directly criticise Hato and said that the entire team started very good before mistakes came into their game.
He said: "Jorrel [Hato], like the team, started very good and then we started to do some mistakes. We need to improve and avoid."
Chelsea have picked up only seven points from their opening four Champions League matches and face a tough challenge to make the play-offs directly.
They are presently 12th in the standings and still need to face the likes of Barcelona, Napoli and Atalanta, who are likely to prove tough opposition.
