Chelsea could make a surprise move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Blues were among the biggest spenders during the summer transfer window. They bolstered their attack with the signings of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Estevao, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho.
Despite this, the club continue to be linked with forwards and reports in Spain claim that the west London giants could swoop for the services of Rodrygo during the January transfer window.
Contact has already been established with the player's representatives and a package of around €75 million could convince Los Blancos to part ways with his services at the beginning of 2026.
Rodrygo is no longer a guaranteed starter for Madrid and he may want regular playing time to boost his World Cup hopes with Brazil. A move to Chelsea would be a surprise due to the fierce competition.
There is no guarantee that Rodrygo will be a regular starter. Hence, a deal does not make sense and the story could be agent-driven to attract interest from other clubs such as Arsenal, who are long-term admirers.
