Chelsea could be prepared to pay a staggering £132 million to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez at the end of the campaign.

The Blues were keen on landing the Argentina international from Manchester City last season, but the Cityzens did not want to negotiate a direct Premier League rival for any price.

As a result, Alvarez was sold to Atletico in a deal worth £81 million, and he has made a huge impression for the Madrid side.

The World Cup winner has already accumulated 38 goals and 12 assists from just 72 appearances for the La Liga giants.

Fichajes now claim that Chelsea remain keen on landing the services of Alvarez and could make a club-record move.

They are ready to break the bank with a package worth £132 million to bring him to Stamford Bridge next summer.

Alvarez would be open to the prospect of returning to the Premier League, provided Atletico give the green light for a deal
