Manchester United have a genuine interest in signing Olympiacos midfielder Christos Mouzakitis next year, according to Sportal in Greece.
The Red Devils were determined to bolster their midfield department last summer, but could not find a suitable target before the deadline.
The club have since added Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba to their shortlist, but the duo won't be available until the end of the season.
Amidst this, it is claimed that the club have sent scouts to monitor 18-year-old Mouzakitis, who has already made over 50 appearances at Olympiacos.
The teenager is a central midfielder, who has caught the eye with his duel-winning skills, recovery pace as well as his forward distribution.
Mouzakitis has also chipped in with some goal contributions and United are said to be exploring the prospect of bringing him to Old Trafford.
Olympiacos are open to contemplating his exit in January, but they are expected to demand at least £40 million to part ways with him.
