Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed a fresh injury for Cole Palmer ahead of the Premier League clash against Burnley on the road this weekend.
The England international has been out of action for the last two months with a groin injury. He was expected to return this weekend, but that has been delayed.
Palmer accidentally broke his toe at home during the international break and he will therefore be sidelined for the rest of the month, as per Maresca's update.
The Manchester City graduate has been a huge performer for the west London giants, and the Blues have been yearning for his creativity in the number 10 role.
Despite his absence, the Blues are third in the league table and only six points behind Arsenal, who are currently top of the standings.
They will be aiming to make up ground in the coming weeks. After Burnley, they entertain Barcelona and Arsenal in quick succession before the month ends.
