Lippi wont be Chelsea boss

Lippi won't be Chelsea boss

29 May 2008 - 20:46

Marcello Lippi has ruled out a move to Chelsea as their new trainer, as he concerned that he knows very little English. The Italian had been linked as Avram Grant's potential successor at the club.

  • The former Juventus boss is now believed to be happy without a job after leading Italy to victory in the 2006 World Cup.

“No, no, no. I will not be Chelsea's trainer,” replied Lippi when asked about the position by The Sun.

“It is absolutely fundamental that a coach speaks with his players and I cannot, because I do not speak English.”
