Manchester United have not made an approach to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes ahead of the January transfer window.
The Red Devils are expected to bolster their midfield department next summer and have been linked with several names over the past few months.
Gomes is one of the players on the club's wishlist, but reports in Brazil claim that United have not made any sort of contact with Wolves for him.
They are still keeping tabs on the highly-rated star and could make a decision on his services at the end of the ongoing league campaign, as per reports.
Gomes has been a top quality defensive midfielder during his time at Wolves and he reportedly sees a move to Old Trafford as a major step for him.
As things stand, Gomes is not the priority midfield target for United.
They are widely expected to focus on landing Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson and could pursue Gomes as a potential backup option.
