Liverpool manager Arne Slot has said that there is a sense of disbelief following the club's 3-3 Premier League draw against Leeds United on the road on Saturday.
The Reds scored two quickfire goals through Hugo Ekitike immediately after the half-time break, and they looked on course for a victory before a surprise turnaround.
Leeds nullified the deficit with two quickfire goals of their own. Dominik Szoboszlai put the Reds back into the lead, but Ao Tanaka bagged a late stoppage time equaliser.
Speaking after the 3-3 draw, Slot said that the Reds played very well during large parts of the encounter and believes the club did enough to win the game.
He said: "There's a sense of disbelief. I think we played quite well to very well during large parts of the game and went 2-0 up.
"I don't think we had any problems and I don't think we conceded a chance until the moment we make a foul which is not even a chance.
"It's 2-1 and not many moments later the first chance they had it was 2-2. Then we go up and you think you've done enough to win the game and then a set piece leads to the 3-3."
Liverpool could have moved within goal difference of fourth-placed Chelsea with a win. Instead, they are currently eighth in the table after dropping costly points.
The Reds could drop up to 10th in the standings if Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United avoid a defeat in the ongoing gameweek.
