Manchester United have received an official bid from Roma to sign Joshua Zirkzee during the upcoming transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Netherlands international has fallen out of favour at the Red Devils this campaign and has been limited to just three starts in the Premier League.
Hence, he is determined to pursue a new challenge in the New Year and Romano reports that the striker has already agreed terms with United.
The Giallorossi have also made an official bid to sign him. They have proposed a loan deal with a potential obligation to buy for the forward.
The 24-year-old is eager to return to Serie A with the Giallorossi such that he can boost his chances of making the World Cup squad for his country.
Zirkzee has been guaranteed a regular role upfront by the Italian giants and it remains to be seen whether United are prepared to sanction his exit.
United may wait until Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo return from the Africa Cup of Nations before parting ways with the ex-Bologna man.
