Manchester United are not exploring a free transfer for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils were credited with an interest in the German this winter, but a deal did not materialise. Goretzka decided to stay with Bayern
The 31-year-old will now leave when his contract expires on June 30, and Romano claims that United are not looking at him at the moment.
There is no pre-agreement between Goretzka and United. The midfielder will take his time and make a decision on his future when the season ends.
Goretzka is on the radar of multiple Serie A and Premier League clubs. Napoli, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have recently been mentioned.
Multiple Bundesliga clubs are also keen on landing his services, but the midfielder has no plans of staying in the German top-flight next season.
Goretzka is set to demand a high signing-on fee. The club that signs him may need to match his current wages of £215,000 weekly.
