Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall at the end of the ongoing campaign, according to Football Insider.
The west London giants are expected to reinforce the midfield department during the summer transfer window, having had to contend with multiple injury concerns.
Romeo Lavia has been on the sidelines for most of his Chelsea career. The same has been the case for Dario Essugo after his summer transfer from Sporting Lisbon.
There is a possibility that Lavia could be offloaded during the next transfer window, and reports claim that the Blues could step up their pursuit of Spurs sensation Bergvall.
Bergvall was a key player under former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, but he fell out-of-favour under Thomas Frank and was a regular substitute before his injury blow.
The Swede is expected to return to action under new manager Igor Tudor later this season, but Chelsea are prepared to test Spurs' resolve with a big-money summer bid.
