Manchester United are keen on landing Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson at the end of the campaign, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils are guaranteed to land a new defensive midfielder this summer with Casemiro set to leave. He will depart when his contract expires on June 30.
The club have been linked with several names and fresh reports claim that Anderson could be targeted. Romano has likewise confirmed that the Englishman is one of the top names.
However, United are keeping their options open and could explore more solutions for the holding midfield department heading into the summer.
Alongside Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte could also depart from the Mancunian giants. He has fallen down the pecking order in the current season.
United turned down a loan offer from Ajax for the Uruguayan last summer, but he could be sold on a permanent basis at the end of the campaign.
There is reportedly interest from the Turkish top tier.
