Manchester United have been handed a boost in landing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba during the summer transfer window, according to Teamtalk.
The Red Devils had their sights on landing the Cameroonian star last summer, but they were put off by the £115m valuation for his services. Brighton had no desire to negotiate on the price tag.
However, the scenario could be different at the end of the campaign. The former Lille man has experienced a notable dip in form this term and Brighton are aware his valuation has dropped.
Hence, they are ready to open the door for negotiations and United believe they can strike an agreement of around £70 million to purchase Baleba when the transfer window reopens this summer.
United are not alone in the pursuit of the defensive midfielder and could face competition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City. Baleba is likely to give preference to the Red Devils.
