Liverpool are pushing to land the signature of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown ahead of Arsenal this summer, as per Teamtalk.
The Merseyside giants are poised to land a new left-back at the end of the season with Andy Robertson set to leave on a free transfer.
The Scottish star was close to joining Tottenham Hotspur in the last transfer window, but was convinced to see out his contract instead.
He will formally depart at the end of June and reports claim that Brown has been earmarked as the ideal replacement for the ex-Hull City man.
Brown has been closely monitored by the Reds over the course of the campaign and the club are now intensifying their pursuit of him.
However, they are likely to face competition from Arsenal.
The Reds are still confident of striking an agreement as Arsenal may struggle to guarantee him regular playing time next season.
At Liverpool, the German could compete with Milos Kerkez for a starting spot, while he would face fierce competition at the Gunners.
Arsenal already have Piero Hincapie, Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly in their ranks and none of them are expected to leave.
