Chelsea were determined to sign Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko during his time at Red Bull Salzburg, according to The Sun.
Sesko signed for the Red Devils from RB Leipzig for £74 million last summer and he has proved a good acquisition with nine goals thus far.
The Slovenian had a slow start to his United career, but he has grown into his role since the New Year, scoring multiple match-winning goals.
It is now revealed that Chelsea attempted to land Sesko after his breakthrough at Salzburg, where he scored 11 goals in the 2021/22 season.
The Blues were prepared to go everything the striker wanted, but Sesko's representative was quite clear with the progression plan.
Sesko eventually joined sister club RB Leipzig a year later, snubbing interest from Manchester United among other elite clubs.
After two seasons with the German giants, Sesko was eventually tempted to join the Red Devils during last summer's transfer window.
He could be a wonderful signing for Man Utd in the long run.
