Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford could formally return to the Red Devils following his season-long loan spell at Barcelona, according to Cadena SER.
The England international signed for the Blaugrana on loan last summer with an option to buy for 26 million pounds. He has made a big impression at the Catalan giants with more than 20 goal contributions.
Despite this, Barcelona are no longer in a position to sign him. His buy clause reportedly had an expiry date until March 31, and the La Liga giants must now negotiate a transfer fee with United for the player.
Hence, the ball is back in United's court. The Red Devils could easily demand a higher fee for the attacker. Barcelona may not afford him, considering they still have financial constraints set by La Liga.
There is a possibility that Rashford could be reintegrated into the United squad. Interim boss Michael Carrick would like to keep him if he becomes the permanent manager of the club at the end of the season.
