Manchester United are keen on securing a quick agreement for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson before the World Cup, as per The Sun.
The Red Devils are determined to land a marquee holding midfielder to replace Casemiro, who will leave on a free transfer this summer.
Anderson, 23, has been earmarked as a prime target and they are prepared to battle it out with Manchester City for his services at the end of the season.
The Sun now claim that United and Man City are keen on securing a quick deal for Anderson before the World Cup in North America in June.
Anderson is expected to start for England at the global tournament and a strong campaign could see his price soar higher than expectations.
He is already valued at around £100 million, and the process is underway to secure an agreement with the Tricky Trees by the start of June.
In that way, a deal would become official as soon as the transfer window reopens in mid-June, ahead of England's first World Cup game.
