Chelsea have entered the race to sign Werder Bremen wonderkid Karim Coulibaly during the summer transfer window, according to Sky Sport Germany.
The Blues are planning to add more quality to their backline this summer and the focus could once again be on emerging talents.
Coulibaly has had a fantastic breakthrough season at Bremen and reports claim that he is 100 percent expected to leave the Bundesliga outfit in the off-season.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been monitoring, but Chelsea are most interested in the 18-year-old, and have already opened negotiations with his agent to finalise personal terms.
Bremen are aware of the increasing interest in the defender, and they are set to demand a package between €40-50m to part ways with their prized asset in the next transfer window, as per Sky Sport Germany.
Coulibaly is a left-sided centre-back with a strong left foot. He has caught the eye with his distribution, aerial presence and recovery pace. He could have a bright future ahead, potentially in English football.
