Chelsea make Man City decision on Enzo Fernandez

Fernandez won't face Man City

Chelsea make Man City decision on Enzo Fernandez

10 April 2026 - 20:03

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has confirmed that the club have a clear stance on midfielder Enzo Fernandez ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

  • Chelsea to offload striker to Premier League rival?
  • Chelsea preparing to sell Alejandro Garnacho
  • The Blues are presently sixth in the standings with 48 points, one behind Liverpool for the final Champions League spot. They face a must-win situation against the Cityzens, but Fernandez won't be involved.

Fernandez was suspended for two matches earlier this month after talking up a move to Real Madrid during the international break. He has apologised for the game, but won't play any part in the upcoming league clash.

His absence will be a huge blow for the west London giants, given he scored a late equaliser at the Etihad Stadium this campaign. In his absence, Cole Palmer could play as a number 10 for the Blues instead of out wide.

Andrey Santos or Romeo Lavia could line up alongside Moises Caicedo in the heart of the midfield. With Man City's rich vein of form, the Blues will start the league game as potential underdogs despite home advantage.
