Chelsea to offload striker to Premier League rival?

Chelsea could part ways with striker Liam Delap when the transfer window reopens during the summer, according to former Blues star Pat Nevin.

  • Chelsea & Man Utd want to sign £90m attacker

  • Delap signed for the Blues during last summer's transfer window. He was on the radar of Manchester United and Newcastle United, but opted to join the Blues instead.

His time in west London has been pretty frustrating. Delap had an injury-plagued start to his Blues career, and he has since played second fiddle to Joao Pedro upfront.

The former Ipswich Town man has netted just two goals from 33 appearances and Nevin feels the Blues will seek to sanction his sale when the season concludes.

The Blues may want to recoup the £30m investment in the marksman and would ideally prefer to do business with a Premier League rival to recoup the entire fee spent.

Newcastle have been credited with an interest in his services, while United are keeping tabs despite Delap snubbing a transfer last summer.
