Manchester United have opened talks with the representatives of Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi regarding a summer transfer, as per Matteo Moretto.
The Red Devils are likely to pursue a new signing for the central defensive department following frustrating injuries to Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.
The club prefer a cut-price solution over a marquee signing and reports claim that they have made contact with Senesi's entourage ahead of a potential free transfer deal.
Senesi's contract with Bournemouth expires on June 30, and he has already made the decision to leave the South Coast outfit for an elite European outfit on a Bosman move.
Aside from United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are among English clubs keen on landing him on a free. Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are also weighing up contract offers.
Atletico and Barcelona have an advantage over the English clubs, given they can finalise a pre-contract agreement with Senesi anytime. Domestic clubs must wait until the summer.
