Arsenal and Manchester United have been handed a huge boost in signing Atalanta midfielder Ederson during the summer transfer window.
The Brazil international recently agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid, and it was claimed that talks were underway to sign him for €45 million.
However, there has been a major shift in events over the last few weeks. Atletico have no plans of meeting the price tag for the midfielder.
Furthermore, there is also a distance in terms of contract terms with the former Salernitana man. Atletico have hit an impasse in negotiations.
This could open the door for other suitors, and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal and United enter the pursuit of the midfielder in the near future.
Ederson seemed focused on joining Atleti earlier last month, but he could now open the door for a Premier League move at the end of the campaign.
Liverpool and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the 26-year-old.
