Chelsea defender Aaron Anselmino could be ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with a hamstring injury, according to L'Equipe in France.
The young centre-back spent the first half of the season on loan with Borussia Dortmund. He made only 10 appearances for the Bundesliga giants on the back of injury concerns.
The Argentine was recalled in January before joining Strasbourg on loan. He managed only 15 minutes for the Ligue 1 side before picking up a serious hamstring injury setback.
L'Equipe now confirm that the former Boca Juniors graduate won't be involved anymore this term and could be sidelined for a lengthy period.
This could force Chelsea's hands this summer, given they had identified Anselmino as a suitable candidate to partner Levi Colwill in the heart of the club's defence next campaign.
Chelsea are exploring the transfer market for a new addition. Bournemouth's Marcos Senesi was recently linked but the Argentine does not suit the club's requirements.
