Four United CBs out of Chelsea game

Man Utd without four centre-backs for Chelsea game

17 April 2026 - 19:27

Manchester United will be without four central defenders for the Premier League clash against Chelsea on the road on Saturday night.

  • Chelsea manager on Reece James before Man Utd game
  • Two injured Arsenal stars to return vs Man City?

  • The Red Devils have dropped points in their last two league matches and face a stern challenge against the Blues tomorrow due to a defensive crisis.

Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire are ruled out of the game due to suspension, while Matthijs de Ligt has been out injured since November.

They have now suffered another setback with Leny Yoro picking up an injury. The Frenchman could be sidelined for the rest of the campaign.

Hence, Chelsea have been handed a huge boost in their quest to qualify for the Champions League and should be favourites to beat United tomorrow.

Interim United manager Michael Carrick is most likely to choose Casemiro to partner Ayden Heaven in the heart of the defence against the Blues.

United are seven points ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea, but a defeat tomorrow could provide a nervy ending in the Champions League race.
