Parry face the axe at Liverpool

04 June 2008 - 09:12

Liverpool co-owner Hicks has reportedly approached Alistair Mackintosh, the chief executive of Manchester City, in a move to replace and remove Parry.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Rick Parry had been labelled as a failure by Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks, and asked him to step down. The Hicks loyals have asked Mackintosh to step up and take charge at Liverpool.

Mackintosh is reportedly unsettled under the City owner Thaksin Shinawatra, after the appointment of new chief executive Gary Cook. Hicks has been impressed by the way Mackintosh handled the matters of the club until it was sold to Thaksin by former chairman John Wardle.

He played an important role in relocating Man City to the City of Manchester Stadium. With Liverpool bound to move to a new stadium in nearby Stanley Park, Hicks would want to have the servicees of the experienced Mackintosh.

Ricky Parry's future is uncertain, though Hicks will have to persuad him to sell his stake in Liverpool to replace Parry.
