Chelsea have confirmed that Calum McFarlane will take charge as interim manager following the decision to part ways with head coach Liam Rosenior earlier today.
The Blues have been dreadful in the Premier League this campaign and they recently suffered a fifth-straight defeat without scoring. As a result, they have decided to part ways with Rosenior with immediate effect.
The process of finding a successor for the position has already begun, but the Blues have confirmed that McFarlane will resume his role as caretaker for the rest of the campaign.
McFarlane previously had a good stint when he was interim after Enzo Maresca's exit. He managed a wonderful 1-1 comeback draw against Man City on the road. Enzo Fernandez scored a late equaliser.
The 40-year-old has the chance to build his reputation further in the next few weeks. He may not get the permanent job but could secure a managerial role elsewhere if he decides on a new challenge.
